Meet J. Paul Nielsen

Bio

Paul Nielsen, MD, MPH, is a highly skilled interventional radiologist at RIA Endovascular, which has locations in Greenwood Village and Windsor, Colorado. With a strong educational foundation and extensive clinical experience, Dr. Nielsen is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

Dr. Nielsen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology, health, and society from Cornell University in 2005, graduating with honors. He then pursued his Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, where he also completed a Master of Public Health with a focus in epidemiology.

After completing his internal medicine internship at Westchester Medical Center in 2011, Dr. Nielsen went on to finish his radiology residency at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine in 2015. He further specialized in abdominal imaging through a fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Currently, Dr. Nielsen serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Radiology. His commitment to education and excellence in radiology has been recognized with nominations for the Faculty of the Year Award (2022) and the Teacher of the Year Award (2022).

Dr. Nielsen is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American College of Radiology, and the Colorado Radiological Society. His involvement in these organizations ensures that he remains at the forefront of advancements in radiology, providing patients with the latest diagnostic and interventional techniques.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Nielsen is passionate about advancing the field of radiology through research and teaching, consistently striving to improve patient outcomes and mentor the next generation of radiologists.
